Just a quick hello

I know I have not been doing very good on my weekly blogging, but I have been doing this for a week

here .......

in Destin Florida. We left at 4 am this morning and made it back after lunch but made a quick stop and just now got home and unpacked.

I have so much to tell. Some crazy stuff too, involving a rescue drowning, a knock at the door from a man carrying a gun, a hobo and quite a few other memories that were made at the beach this year. Whew! I am so exhausted and we are going to try to make it to the horse show tonight which starts in 2 1/2 hours.

I am also going out of town for a work conference tomorrow and will be gone for 3 1/2 days. I will definitely catch you up on our trip and summer break so far.

Sorry, for my lack of postings lately :)

Can't wait to get back in town, so I can catch up on my blog reader. Have a great week~

Houston's Kindergarten Graduation 2011

I can't believe I have not blogged about Kindergarten Graduation yet!

It is so hard to believe that my "baby" will be in First Grade next year. Wasn't he just born last week? AHH :(

Anyway, as many of you know Houston goes to school where I teach and he was actually in my Kindergarten class this year. It was great! I did not treat him any different than any other student, he called me "Mrs. Collins" and listened as he was expected.

I had a great year, great parental involvement and a wonderful class of Kindergartners.

Here are a few shots from our Kindergarten Graduation. It was kinda hard being a teacher and parent, but my hubby got some great shots of the special day.

My wonderful family
Houston's sweet friend Katelyn came to see him on his big day!

Singing

Getting his awards for Principal List all year and Perfect Attendance

My fave~ Math is Fun

One of the songs that only my class sings

Last year, I made signs for each child. Since this is such a fun song, I added sunglasses this year and they LOVED it!!

Happy 40th Birthday Tim!

Happy Birthday to the Love of my Life!

I love you Timothy Franklin Collins and I am so proud to call you my husband and son's father. Houston and I are so blessed to have you in our lives and I think I am falling in love with you more every day.

Thank you God for blessing me with such a supportive and loving husband.

Do You Remember These?

Yes, someone gave Houston this old cell phone and I swear it weighs like 3 pounds!
Check it out compared to mine I currently have.

Isn't it funny how things change? And we thought it was so cool to talk on one of these hunkers back in the day! Hilarious!

The Beginning of our Summer Break Fun

I think this summer has by far been the busiest! We have already done so many activities to keep us busy this summer and these pictures aren't half of what we have done the past week and a half. We have been trying to stay home and hang out around the house due to the 100 degree heat.

One thing I did do this summer was make Houston a Chore Chart. He has one major chore to do each day Mon-Fri and he gets a sticker each day he completes it. At the end of the week, if he has earned 5 stickers, then he gets a reward. For example:

Mon~empty all trash cans into kitchen one

Tue~Empty dishwasher

Wed-help fold/put away laundry

Thur-wipe down BR's

Fri-organize/pick up playroom

This has been great for Hou Boo! Usually during the summer, he plays, watches TV or we run around. This is teaching him to be responsible and he knows before he does anything, he must complete his chore on the chart. I am so proud of him for this.

Houston is also reading and completing workbooks to prepare for 1st grade. Last week, he asked for a 1st grade math workbook I had. I gave it to him and in 2 hours it was completed except the last 2 pages on adding money. He took it to my softball game and completed it (with the help of daddy telling him answers) in no time.

Check out our summer so far~

Cutest Little Ringbearer in Town

Houston has had the privilege to be in quite a few weddings the past 2 years.

Our friends Peter and Ashley got married last month and Houston was their ring bearer. We have known this sweet family for the past 2 years and we were so excited when Peter called and asked Houston if he would be his ring bearer. Katelyn, their daughter, and Hou are buddies and we enjoy spending time with them when we can. They were so cute together throughout the entire day.

The wedding was so beautiful. Here are some pics of my handsome little man and the wedding.

So sweet

The reception was so beautiful, but it was so chilly outside that I had to take off my dress and change into warmer clothes.
