10 things I Love on Wednesday

1. I am loving this book by Max Lucado. It has little inspirational stories and is by one of the best Christian authors I know. A touching story I read was about the power of prayer. There was a preacher in the 60's that was captured and sentenced to death as he waited in prison. Prisoners were lined up and counted off by ones and twos. Luckily, the preacher's life was spared. The other group had been taken and lined up to be murdered by gunfire. The preacher took an opportunity to spread the gospel in jail to everyone. Eight prisoners gave their life to Christ that day. A little while later, the preacher was released. He was told he was mistakenly arrested. He went back home and found a crowd of believers praying for his safe return. This story is similar to the Bible story about Peter being put in prison. Isn't it amazing how powerful prayer really is?
My assistant that helps me teach Sunday School let me borrow this book and I have really enjoyed reading it!

2. I am loving my new pink candle from mom, my new silver shower rod and my black monogrammed towel with a hot pink C from my awesome aunt. She has got to be the BEST monogrammer ever! I think my newly remodeled bathroom is finally complete.

3. I am loving how much fun I had at Katie's wedding this weekend. It came and has gone. Everything was beautiful and I think everyone had a wonderful time.

4. I am loving how awesome Becca and Houston walked down the aisle so perfectly! They were great and so precious!

5. I am loving how much fun I had with these girls!

6. I am loving my mom for being a great friend, going to the wedding and helping dress Houston, watch him and take pictures of everything! I am also loving how she has lost 15 pounds since Sept 11th! yay mom!

7. I am loving how Houston loves horses like I did when I grew up. Here he is with his pony Dixie.

8. I am loving how his new pony Sweetie Pie/Buck has gained alot of weight and is looking really good. Houston got her for his birthday on August 3rd of this year and she was alot thinner. Houston changed her name to a boy name b/c he did not liek Sweetie Pie.

9. I am loving my little pirate and all the fun we had with our friends at their church fall festival

10. I am loving that Houston is so into and so good at biking. We try to bike 4 to 6 miles every night and he actually loves it. He is the one motivating me. After 6 months and probably 200 miles later, we decided to remove his worn out training wheels. He knew how to ride but I didn't trust him in the road with back road traffic. He has been doing such a great job since August. Keep it up buddy and pretty soon we will extend our route to mimi and paws.
These were taken on tonight's ride.

I don't know if you can tell, but I am one pretty blessed woman. I love God, my church, my job, my family and my friends. And I am pretty partial to my son. As much as he can drive me crazy, he is my life and can just melt my heart!
Hope everyone has a great and safe Halloween!

Special night for a special couple!

Sunday night we had a little get together and dinner with a group of about 14 friends. It was also a surprise for two of the guests. Our friends, Jennifer and Matt have followed God's calling in adopting a baby in the future. Jennifer has started creating these amazing wooden hand-painted signs to raise money for their adoption fund. They are wonderful too. I have one in my kitchen and love it!
Anyway, this summer, a friend Beth got with us with the idea of having a get together and do a money tree for their adoption fund. What a great idea! After dinner, we all gathered around and Beth said, the party had a purpose and surprised them with the money tree. Jennifer's look was priceless. They were so shocked, happy and overwhelmed, I think. She is such a special, amazing Christian woman and I can not wait until they bring their new baby home! Check out her blog. http://thelajeunessefam.blogspot.com Her etsy shop is posted on her side page and 100% of profits go to her adoption funds. Check her out!

So I am on a ROLL tonight!

This weekend we kept ourselves busy as usual. Saturday we went shopping as a family. Yep, it was great. I could look all I wanted while my sweet hubby entertained Hou Boo. Saturday night we went to our friend's house so Houston could see his buddy, David. Sunday after church, we headed to Tim's parents church to the fall festival. It was great. We had friends show up that we invited so we all had someone to hang with. lol My friend Ashley brought her daughter out and our friend Brian brought his son and the kids had a blast! On top of that it was such a beautiful day to be outside. After the fall festival we hung out at Brian's for a while and then headed home to venture to a surprise party for a dear friend. That will be on the next post. Way too many pics for one post and why not? I am on a roll tonight. The boys are sleeping and I am wide awake!
