Children's Museum field trip
Grades PreK-2nd went on a school-wide field trip to the Children Museum of Memphis this week. Houston had never been and we had so much fun. I had 11 parent volunteers go, so I only had one child that was not partnered up and wanted to walk around with me. Houston's teacher said he could hang out with me on the trip, so we had the opportunity to walk around and see and do everything. That place has changed so much! It wasn't that cool when I was as kid. There was so much to do and it is all hands-on and learning centered. Houston said his favorite part was climbing in the ferret cages. I could not even watch him, the holes were so narrow and I was scared he and Kayla were going to get trapped. We danced and performed on stage to music videos, we did the news broadcast and we pretended we were flying in a tornado too. He wrote checks at the bank, sent the ATM money holder in the to the teller, designed a house, drove an airplane, shot a paper airplane and shopped for groceries and even checked himself out at the cash register. My kindergarten students were so well behaved and I was so happy I got to spend alot of time with all of the parents. Houston's last day of pre-K is in 2 weeks and my kindergarteners graduate in 13 days. Oh my gosh, this year has just flown by! Can't wait for my summer vacation. We have so many fun things planned.
lost for words
Please keep a family in your prayers. The child was in my first grade class a few years ago and he was only 9 years old. He died on Sunday night from an incident at home in his bedroom. It was on the news, so I am sure you have heard how he died by now. Very sad that a 9 year old could even know how to do that. The mother is a young mother and has 2 small children. The visitation is tonight and I can NOT imagine how she feels, loosing a child. This family needs prayer at this tragic moment.
Lord, please put your healing hand on the family and friends of Dillion.
A friend tagged pictures of him to my facebook page if you would like to see him.
I have been lost for words ever since I found out Monday night. So upsetting and hard. You just don't realize how important every day is and you never know what may happen tomorrow.
That is why you should show love and affection to the ones you love and enjoy every moment of quality time you have while you have it.
Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you, he will never let the righteous fall. Psalm 55:22

Briarfest Day 2010
Due to the rain Saturday, our plans kinda got cancelled, so we ended up doing the Briarfest Carnival at Briarcrest all day. We planned to go that afternoon but got to go all day and made an 8 hour day out of it. It was so much fun, however, it was a muddy mess. The theme was Western/Cowboy. It was so cute, they really went all out on decorations. Houston rode all the rides more than once, he played all the games, rode the bull, bungee jumped, won a big Scooby Doo and ton of other prizes, played at the petting zoo, won a cake at the cake walk, went on a train ride, a hay ride and all sorts of other fun things.

Green Mean Machines
Houston has started his Tball games at Piperton and loves it! His game got cancelled yesterday due to the weather, so they will play a double header on Tuesday night. Here are a few pictures I wanted to share with everyone.
30th Birthday celebration downtown Memphis
For my 30th birhday last week, my girl Heather and her Beau Brian took Tim and I downtown for a surprise night out on the town. Talk about FUN!!! We went to the Rendezvous and on an hour long horse drawn carriage ride all over downtown Memphis. Talk about amazing.
You know, we have horses at home and even 2 buggies, but riding downtown in a CINDERELLA carriage was a total different experience. I loved it to say the least. Here are some pics out of order from our double date night out. Enjoy!! I know I did
This is the trolley that nearly ran us over in the carriage
