Me and Jason Aldean

So we won free Jason Aldean tickets with Meet and Greet Passes back stage from Boondocks Western Store. The concert was at Snowden Grove Amphitheater in Olive Branch and it was his 1st SOLD OUT concert. It was such an amazing experience and he was the nicest man, not to mention a hottie! We weren't allowed to take pictures with our cameras or phones, only with their camera and they uploaded it to his website. Here we are........

ok, so Tim was in the picture too. I just cropped him out to make us look good :) We were allowed one picture per person, but we were so nervous after they snapped this one, we left.

*Notice Below, Tim was STARSTRUCK. He walked out after the picture and said, I didn't know what to say or do. Jason was hugged me. Was I supposed to hug him back? hhahaha
Houston had colored him a picture of a John Deere Tractor for his "Big Green Tractor" song and he signed our ticket stub and a picture of Houston singing Big Green Tractor in the Talent Show at school. Jason said Houston should have won first place!

Us in front of the dressing room. He was getting a massage while we were waiting. The sign said, "massage in progress, do not disturb" Must be nice, huh?

Me with my autographs in front of his tour bus. Technically, there were supposed to be no camera behind the VIP area, but I sure did sneak it out for a shot of his bus, Can you imagine driving down the road next to that fine thing? UGH

again, kinda blurry because Tim was scared we would get kicked out for having our cameras. Whoops

Sitting in our 6th row seats!

Pirate Birthday Party Decor

Here are some of the decorations from Houston's 6th Pirate Birthday Bash.

Here is the invitation I sent out. Couldn't be more perfect with 6 candles on the cake!

The setup before everyone started arriving.

The cake

Delicious Strawberry cupcakes my granny made with pirate gold on top. My sister also baked some chocolate cupcakes that were tasty!

Birthday Picture Frame of my 6 year old birthday boy

The treasure chest filled with loot bags and pirate's treasure and gold

The kids were running around the spray park having a ball and I snapped a few shots of the party tables.

Houston has already named some choices of what he wants next years birthday party to be. At least I won't have to worry about waiting to the last minute ;)

Pirate Houston's 6th Birthday Celebration

For Houston's 6th Birthday, we decided to have a Pirate themed birthday party. He wanted to have it at the local Sprinkler Park in Collierville with all his friends. The weather couldn't have been more perfect and we had many friends and family come out and celebrate with us. When we were loading up his things, he said "Mommy, this is the BEST BIRTHDAY EVER". This child, just melts my heart!

The cake was ordered last minute, but turned out great!

These were the John Deere boots that we got for his mawmaw and pawpaw to give him an hour before the party. Long story short, we won free Jason Aldean concert tickets and Meet and Greet passes from the drawing since we bought the boots. We came home from the birthday party and had a shocking voicemail on the phone notifying us that we won! BTW, the concert was incredible!

All the mates together for a group shot!

Houston and his girl, Tabby!

And his other girl, Katelyn!

Me and Gayla!

After the party, Houston had his best friend from Pre-K and Kindergarten spend the night. He had never spent the night away, so his big bro tagged along. They had a great time, being boys and staying up late for the sleepover!

I plan to do another post later this week with all teh decorations. I didn't really go all out, but I did have some "cute Piratey decor".

Weekend at the Lake

I have been terrible at blogging lately! I just looked at the picture folders on my desktop and I have tons of catching up to do. So be on the lookout for Jason Aldean pics, Houston's birthday party, Gulf Shores??? Are you serious? How could I forget? and a few other random posts.

Anyway, I went to the lake at Greers Ferry, Arkansas with a girlfriend this past weekend for a relaxing getaway. It was much needed and I had tons of laughs and got to just sit back and chill.

We hung out on the boat ALL WEEKEND LONG

I even cliff jumped again
We met some guys that were on these YOLO boards. They made the mistake of hooking us up with some and we were hooked. So much fun and such great exercise. My arms were sore for days from paddling around Snake Rock Cove. The key to riding one of these is to have good balance. Mine was not the beginner board and was very narrow and difficult to stand on, but my board went so much faster and was easier to steer than the wider one. These boards run $1200 to $1400 a piece. The paddles were $400! Can you believe how pricey these were? I guess they are the new thing though!

This was our last few minutes on the lake before we had to head back to Memphis :(. We had found a cove with shooting geysers that were ice cold as they shot up, so we hung out there due to the temps being 102 that day.

I had such a great time! Thanks Melissa for a relaxing girls getaway!

WILW

I am linking up again with Jamie for WILW this week.

I am LOVING that I am going to see this hottie tomorrow night. We have tickets and Meet and Greet passes to go backstage and meet him. I am so pumped. Went shopping tonight and got my super cute outfit! Look out Jason Aldean, here I come!

I am also loving that my Kindergarten class finally got split this afternoon. It feels so good to only have 14 kids compared to 22 and 23. I got so much accomplished this afternoon with my students and I feel like I can give them that one on one attention and work with them in small groups longer.

I am lastly loving how blessed I am. I have heard of many tragic events thsi week involving death of children or parents in our school or community and it makes me feel so blessed to be healthy and still have my family.

What's On my Mind!

1. We just payed our house off today! Tim had the money wired around lunch time today. He called to tell me and I could tell he was so proud. We have had a 15 year loan and decided with things going on right now, the right thing would be to pay it off early! Praise the Lord for all His blessing flow!

2. Houston's party was a success and I am so glad it is over and the weather turned out great!

3. The heat is finally starting to cool down here in TN. The temperature this morning was 59 degrees. YIPPEE

4. My Kindergarten class is getting split due to having too many kindergartners in 2 classes. Now I will only have about 14 compared to 22! Yahoo!

5. I got to spend some pool/margarita time with an old friend this past weekend and it was MUCH NEEDED.

6. I get to go on a lake trip this coming up weekend with a friend and no kids and men! Can I get an AMEN?

7. Please continue to pray for my hubby. He will know something by Wednesday and we still need your prayers at this time.

8. Our roof is still not on the front of our house from the July 4th storm. Can you believe that? Crazy insurance didn't want to cover the entire roof and now they finally agreed to redo everything. We got the insurance check but had to send it somewhere to get it signed and we have been waiting on the roofers for almost 2 weeks. I think he may be waiting on the weather to cool down a little.

****I started this post this early this morning and when I came home from school today, the roofers had come and started putting a new roof on. Praise the Lord!

9. I have found some amazing superfabulous ideas on Pinterest lately for my house and classroom. Check my boards out if you haven't already!

10. I am getting ready to go out for Mexican with a girlfriend to celebrate her birthday a little late. I am looking forward to some adult time with a great friend! The boys just left to do "their thing" lol.
