Saturday night we had friends over to eat pizza and watch the movie ELF. They left around 10:30 pm. We walked them to their car and went back to finish watching the last 10 minutes of ELF with Houston. As we sat down, Tim begin to complain that he had a kink in his neck and couldn't move it. Then he said that he could not see, that he thought he was having a stroke. I helped him to the bedroom to lie down and he began to roll his eyes all around his head and in and out and he started kicking his legs uncontrollably. I immediately called my dad (who is a retired fireman after 30 years) and told him
the symptoms. He told me to bring Houston and go to the hospital immediately. As Tim stood up, he fell out on the floor. Houston helped me help him up and get him to the car.
We arrived at the ER at 11:41 pm and they had him back, checking him by 11:47 pm. We had put him in a wheelchair, because he couldn't walk without passing or falling out. As the nurse began to question him, he started mumbling. He
said he thought the year was 1997 and that he didn't know who the president was. I was very concerned that he had lost his memory at this point. She immediately wheeled him to a room in the ER. They checked him and his blood pressure, blood work, CT scans, EKG scans, and urine samples all came back good, The
dr finally came in at 4:30 am and said they he was puzzled as to what was going on. First they thought it may have been and epileptic seizure, then they said it seemed to be more like a mini-stroke. At about 6:30 am, they moved us to an actual hospital room on the cancer floor
due to being filled up elsewhere. There are only 11 patients on that floor, so he is checked on every hour. He also gets
the privilege to order fine
dining room service rather
than eat hospital food.
After he got moved to a room on Sunday morning, he went for an MRI (
which took over an hour) and came back very sleepy and dizzy. He also had a CT scan on his brain to check the
blood vessels in his brain for aneurysms. He pretty much slept all day after this. His main complaint was his eyes as they burn and can not see.
Everything is doubled or blurred and it is
making him dizzy and
nauseous. He keeps his eyes closed all day and the lights stay off and he can not sit up or gets sick. He was dehydrated, so he is on an IV with fluids. They have been transporting him in a hospital bed or wheel chair for testing. My dad and Tim's dad went home around 5 am on Sunday, but his mom stayed with me. Then around 9 am she went home and my
friend Gayla came and stayed with me for almost 10 hours. We laughed and cried and kept each other company all day. We also entertained the many visitors. H
a, that was from sleep
deprivation I think
because I had less than 45 minutes sleep total in the past 48 hours. Gayla also has been bring these amazing hot
chocolates from Starbucks to the hospital and they are delicious!
I
ended up going home Sunday night to get
some sleep and see Houston. He had been staying with dad. (That's another story (a funny one)). Tim's mom and
aunt stayed
the night and I told them to call me
everytime a
dr came to
the room. Tim had
them call me when I
got home to tell me goodnight and he seemed to be in good spirits. Monday, I
decided to go in to school to get away from things. I had 2 breakdowns at school just because everything is so overwhelming and I have
been holding it in to be strong for Tim and Houston. But
let me tell you, I have a
wonderful support
system at school, because they were so good to me and constantly in my room checking on me to see if I needed anything ALL day long. My
Principal whom I love, prayed with me and another coworker and it meant the WORLD to me. She had a similar experience with her husband a few years ago and knew exactly what I was going through.
While I was at school, Tim called and said that
the Neurologist came in and said that a blog clot got behind his eye and caused the symptoms that led to the min-stroke and his eyesight would be healed within 2 weeks. He has muscle paralysis in his right eye and his left eye is dialated.
When
school was dismissing, I
immediately left to head to the hospital. Houston wasn't sure if he would get to see his daddy, but when he found out, he was
ecstatic. He made him 4 cards that were precious. We had to stop by the store and get him a little present to take too. He thought it was so cool going back to see him with a gift.
The 1st night he was very scared of his daddy b/c he had witnessed Tim's spell and said, "Daddy looks funny mommy". Tim was so pale and shaking that night too. I know it had to be scary for
Houston and he did not like seeing him in
the wheelchair with
IV's hooked up to him.
We hung out and Tim's aunt left, Gayla came back and stayed until we left at 9pm and Helen came by. Tim said that earlier Bro Jack, our preacher, had stopped by to visit that morning while I was at school. He has had cousins come, family friends and others come the past few days.
As of last night, he was still waiting on the eye dr to stop by and check his eyes. He finally came at 10:30pm and can not figure out what is going on. They are going to look at the test results again today to determine what exactly is going on.
When we left
the hospital, it was doing this outside. Yep! Snowing in November! I went to bed at 2:30 am, and got a call from the
superintendent at 5:15 am telling us there was NO SCHOOL today. My principal also called to tell me.
Yay! I got up, did a little laundry and had my quiet time.
I wanted to share a scripture that I opened my Bible and turned to.
1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can not bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.
I do believe this verse is for me right now as we have dealt with some major struggles the past few months. I am trying to stay strong for my boys and know I will with HIS help.

fbook me asking about Tim and I wanted to post something for

***I am Loving that my husband got to come home from the hospital last night! Praise the Lord. After several MRI's, cat scans and EKG's, they found NO MASSES on his brain or eyes and it was determined to definitely be a stroke from all the stress he has been through the past few months. His eye sight will hopefully be completely healed within 2 weeks to 3 months. He was so happy to finally be back home and Houston was pretty happy to have his daddy back home as well.
