Adventures in Nashville, TN

Last week, immediately after we came back in town from the beach, I unpacked my suitcase and repacked to head to Nashville for a Model Schools Conference Professional Development. I was home less than 16 hours.

After a long drawn out drive up there (long story) we made it with less than 5 minutes to spare picking up our registration packets at the Opryland Hotel. Then we headed to our hotel and loaded our luggage onto this cart.

Little did we know these things are not very easy to push/pull when they are being forced in the wrong direction. Here it is almost 10pm at night and we are exhausted and struggling to pull this luggage cart. People are looking at us and laughing, I just about fall out and wet my pants once we realize, it was in reverse.

Isn't the Gaylord Opryland Hotel grand?

Here is the radio station inside the hotel. They were LIVE when I took this pic.

After a busy few days at the conference, we headed Downtown Nashville to Broadway for some sightseeing and good food and entertainment

This town was right up my alley. I know I have been here as a kid, but had completely forgotten how amazing it was. I was like a kid at Christmas with all the COUNTRY WESTERN clubs, stores, and everything else.

We ate a Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville.

This woman on stilts came around making balloon hats. There were no kids in our section, so she made one for a teacher that was like a cat with a tail. She put it on and every time she turned her head, she would whack her teacher friend in the head with the tail, then she would turn to say sorry and whack the other person next to her. She got Amy a couple times too. It was hilarious! When, they play Margaritaville by Jimmy Buffet, the woman on stilts encourages everyone to sing, clap and dance. The group of teachers next to us decide to hop on their chairs and dance. It was wild. We, of course, behaved! lol

Here is my Double Cheeseburger in Paradise

This was Amy's fave place, so we had to snap a pic

And you know I had to snap one of me with these horses for Hou Boo. He loved it!

We had a wonderful time, but you know, there is no place like home! I was so glad to get back home to my boys after a 3 day quick trip!
