I have not been good about blogging lately, but......... I will do better now because I finally don't have DIAL UP!!!! Yes, you read that right, I have had dial up, slow speed Internet for the past 15 years and I upgraded to DSL and am already so in love! Enough of that, let me begin to tell you how much fun I had this week.

First, I will back up to tell you, we have some very dear friends, Mrs. Freddie and Mr. Tony that have been in our church family since Houston was a baby. Mrs. Freddie was actually Houston's Sunday school teacher every year since he was in a toddler class until they moved this year. She and her husband were both such a vital part to the church and the children's ministry and are loved by so many at First Baptist Fisherville. Anyway, Houston kinda adopted them as his grandparents. He adores them both. We use to have to call them all the time just so he could say hi. He even named his build a bear elephant, Freddietony. One morning we were discussing eternity in Heaven and Houston asked, "Mommy, will Ms. Freddie be in Heaven with me? What about Mr. Tony?" Of course we had to call them and he had to ask. When Houston asked Jesus into his heart this spring, who is the first person you think he wanted to call and tell?, you guessed it, Mrs. Freddie. Anyway, Mr. Tony got transferred to another job in Cleavland Ms last fall. Houston prayed for this man and his job every night. They finished moving this spring and it was bittersweet. I was so happy for them, but at the same time, I was so sad to see such a dear friend leave and be so far away. But it was God's will and has been an amazing experience. I know God had a plan for Tony's job and everything just fell into place, despite the fact, I was sad and Houston had really not really been around other teachers except Ms. Sunshine. But I know they are involved in their new church and that is Freddie's talent. She is so good with the little ones and they all adore her. And the best part is, they will be back to the Memphis area one day!

So, that is the background on our other family. On to the trip! Tuesday we woke up and headed down to the Mississippi Delta to spend a few days with the Bond's. I had never really traveled alone and was nervous about the different freeways and directions, but God was with me and I made it in perfect timing with NO problems. We got to Cleavland and met up with Mrs. Freddie at Walgreens. We were SO happy to see her. Houston hasn't seen her since March and could not get enough hugs. He kept hugging her and looking at her then hugging her again. We headed to her beautiful house, which is actually in the neighborhood and across the street from Delta State. We sat down and talked while Houston played with her baby kitties. They are so precious. We then met Mr. Tony for lunch at a place called The Warehouse. This was actually an old warehouse where Tony's company use to be renovated into a restaurant. The food was delicious and everyone there is so friendly. Everywhere we went, people were coming up to say hello. Then we went shopping at Walmart for as lifejacket, but had no luck and headed to Paul's Mart, which is a little hunting/western store. We got Houston a life jacket and our next stop was at McCarty's pottery. This is basically a "hole in the wall". It was an old mule barn hidden behind bamboo poles. You walk up to it and all you see is a wooden door. There is not even a parking lot. You park on gravel across the street. When we went in, we were impressed to see beautiful gardens, flowers, trees, ponds, sitting areas and pottery. The actual pottery place is so small you can barely walk. There were so many people in there, you could hardly move around. The pottery is made from Mississippi mud from the river and is known worldwide. They had a coffee table book illustrated by Morgan Freeman with a narrative of this place. Mrs. Freddie insisted on getting me some pottery to take back home, so I got a serving platter and bowl. It is amazing! I have never had any pottery and now it is so special to me. We left there and went home, met up with Mr. Tony, pulled the boat to a country club they joined and went for a ride on the water. It was so much fun. Houston's new hat Mr. Tony got him, blew off into the water, he was so upset, but when he found out he was getting another, he felt better. We left there, went home and changed clothes and headed to this place called Crawdads. Mrs. Freddie told me it was a nicer restaurant and had the best steak. When we got there, we met two of Mr. Tony's coworkers/partners outside the parking lot. We visited with them for a bit and headed inside. This place had wild animals stuffed and hung all over the walls, zebra, elephant, lion, deer, bull, duck, turkey, bear, snakes, and fox. It was a cabin and was covered in these animals in each room/area. We ordered the best steaks, walked around to take pictures and sat around and talked. We ran to the truck to hide from the mosquitos. They are so bad down there that people have systems installed outside their homes to automatically spray and kill them every hour.

Wednesday we woke up early and told Mr. Tony bye and sat around and talked all morning after breakfast. We had a wondeful time these few days spent with dear friends. I headed home Wed afternoon, cried halfway home, but stopped at Tunica at the Outlets. It made me feel a little better. :)I haven't been in forever and found some really good deals. How can anyone bypass a Gap or Old Navy outlet? I also stopped in Southhaven at my frined Katie's new house to see everything, which looks great by the way. They just repainted, got new floors and were waiting on furniture. Then finally, I made it home last night around 7:30 pm. I had such a great time and made so many memories with these special friends the past few days!
